A Detailed Note on Horses |
Horses were historically the most popular animals used in wars owing to their
agility and speed. The present age witnesses human beings and horses interacting
in various other aspects like sports and even in their work. Horses were known
for the speed in their locomotion because of which human beings started
domesticating wild horses in the beginning. Later they became an integral part
of the lives of people especially farmers who have large ranches. Horses are
used widely in agriculture as they are very strong animals.
The term Stallion Horses is
given to male horses that are not castrated. They are considered very powerful
and strong horses that are four years and older. Based on their age horses are
classified into many such as foal, colt, filly, mare etc. There is a large
variance in size that is predominant among various breeds of horses. Horses and
ponies are differentiated not only because of their height but also based on
their appearance such as temperament and conformation. Ponies' horses usually
have thicker tails, manes and the over all coat. They also have calmer
temperaments and a very good level of intelligence.
Horses sport different kinds of colors and each breed has different markings on
their coats. This is a means that can be used to differentiate between Stallion
Horses of different breeds. Horses are animals with a digestive system which are
adapted to a diet of plant material including grass. The Horses have senses that
are much more of a higher quality than human beings because when they are in
wild they had to be cautious about preys. As a result of which they have higher
intelligence. They can see both in the night and day. They have different ways
of locomotion called the walk, trot, canter and the gallop each classified
according to the speed that is adopted by the horse.
There are different breeds of horses. The hot blooded horses are those that are
spirited agile and that learn very easily. The cold blooded horses are those
that are muscular and heavy. They are very calm in their temperament and are
used to do heavy works like pulling carriages and other agricultural work. The
warm blooded animals are mainly used as developed for warfare and hence have a
higher temperament. Certain ponies' horses are developed with higher
temperaments than the normal ones to suit new riders.
From the past horses are used for various recreation purposes such as games and
races. These have become very popular as a large number of people follow races
and know their favorite brands. Horses and
ponies are trained well before being brought into the field of sports. As
they are very intelligent animals training them is much easier. Horses are used
very effectively in the area of work. They are used extensively for agricultural
purposes as they can travel easily on rough terrain. Many countries still use
horses to transport respected individuals as it shows the status of the person.
Horses are very friendly with important ways of helping us humans.
