In 1916, author Will H. Robinson and golf pro Harry J. Collis invested in land and built a new hotel on Buffalo Street west of Arizona Avenue. They called it the Sahuaro Hotel, and it served as accommodations for overflow from the nearby San Marcos Hotel.
