Europeans take early lead at Royal Trophy |
Ryder Cup stars Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood beat S.K. Ho and Toru Taniguchi 4 and 3 in alternate-shot play to help Europe take a 3 1/2- 1/4 lead over Asia on Friday in scorching conditions in the Royal Trophy.
Sweden's Johan Edfors and Henrik Stenson routed Prom Meesawat and Tetsuji Hiratsuka 6 and 5 on the Amata Spring, and fellow Swedes Niclas Fasth and Robert Karlsson edged Thongchai Jaidee and Thaworn Wiratchant 3 and 1. Anthony Wall and Paul McGinley halved with Jeev Milkha Singh and Y.
