Montgomerie confident going into 2007 |
Colin Montgomerie is confident he will be in contention for a major title in 2007.
The Scot, who has been the No. 1 golfer in Europe eight times but has never won a major, said Thursday he was optimistic about the new season.
"I will be in contention for at least one major (this year) and hopefully one day that door will open," Montgomerie said. "I closed it on myself (at the U.S. Open) at Winged Foot but in the other (four) runner-ups, the door was closed on me.
