Sorenstam fires course record at Hammons |
Annika Sorenstam shot a 7-under 64 to take the first-round lead on Friday in the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic, a U.S. LPGA event she's dominated in recent years.
Regularly sinking putts of 15 feet or more, Sorenstam had eight birdies and tied the course record for the 6,602-yard Cedar Ridge Country Club, set in the tournament's opening round last year by fellow Swede Maria Hjorth.
